the standards that guide our work

You may have noticed the number of companies that claim to produce high-quality products.

At Lyte Poles, we don’t just make that claim. We aim to prove it by manufacturing lights poles that satisfy the strict standards set forth by AASHTO, ASTM International, and NEMA.

AASHTO

The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials is guided by a board of chief transportation officers representing all 50 American states, plus the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. AASHTO also has a 12-member executive committee led by elected officials and assisted by the executive director.

Colleagues from the volunteer state department of transportation work through the AASHTO committee to create policies, standards, and technical activities. These committees collaborate regularly to address virtually every element of transportation services, from planning and designing to construction and maintenance.

ASTM International

Formerly known as the American Society for Testing and Materials, ASTM International develops and publishes standards for various materials, products, systems, and services.

The leadership team for this organization includes more than 30,000 of the world’s top technical experts and business professionals, representing 140 countries. They work together to create test methods, specifications, classifications, guides, and practices for many industries, including metals, construction, and petroleum.

NEMA

The National Electrical Manufacturers Association publishes standards for electrical products and advocates for the electrical equipment industry. NEMA is the largest trade association of its kind in the U.S. and represents about 325 electrical equipment and medical imaging manufacturers. Members include electrical experts, engineers, scientists, business leaders, and technicians.

This organization is largely considered the voice of the electro industry. All levels of the American government rely on NEMA for advice on legislation and regulations on international trade, infrastructure funding, and other issues.

In addition to adhering to the standards of these organizations, we build all our products using fabricating and welding procedures outlined in the American Welding Society’s (AWS) manual for steel and aluminum. This empowers us to eliminate welding defects and ensure the structural integrity of every light pole, bracket, and anchor bolt.
